Stage I
Due to the great disparity between the strengths of the two fields, the
Tournament Committee has decided (as per the 2008 ITS Supplementary
Regulations) that there will be 15 qualifiers to Stage 2 from the Monday field
and 17 from the Wednesday field.
Two minor amendments to the regulations have also been made.

The PFR (pair final ranking) at the end of Stage 1 has been redefined in terms
of the number of contending pairs rather than the size of the field.

Each field will provide at least one qualifier to the Women's and Seniors'
Finals, irrespective of their finishing position.
