SUMMARY OF MAJOR EVENTS - 2012
The Sydney Metropolitan Region has been granted eight places
in the National Final to be held in Tweed Heads on 30 November - 3vDecember.
Four teams (two from the NSWBA, one from the Double Bay Bridge Centre and one
from the North Shore Bridge Club) will qualify directly to the National Final.
All metropolitan clubs will be invited to run GNOT qualifying tournaments to
select teams to play in the Metropolitan Regional Final at the NSWBA on 22
& 23 September, 2012. Four teams from this final will qualify to the
National Final. Gold masterpoints will be awarded for all matches. The GNOT

This match-pointed pairs event is open to players below the rank of Life Master
at 1/1/2012. Pairs will qualify to the National Final to be held in Canberra as
part of the 2013 Summer Festival on 19-20 Januaryl 2013. All metropolitan clubs
will be invited to run GNP qualifying tournaments to select pairs to play in
the Metropolitan Regional Final at the North Shore Bridge Club on 18 November,

All clubs are invited to participate in the 2012 Bridge for Brain Research
Challenge and support Neuroscience Research Australia. The ABF has
approved red masterpoints at B4s level. NSWBA session is scheduled for Monday 7
May at 10.30 am.

Three players enter and randomly draw a Master player as their fourth for the
day. Only simple bidding systems may be used and no Grand Masters may enter
(except as team captains). The captain will play two matches with each of the
team members.

The ANC rotates around the states and territories on an 8-year cycle and in 2012
the NTBA will be holding this prestigious event in Darwin in conjunction with
the Territory Gold Bridge Festival. Stage I of the Australian Butler Pairs is
open entry and Gold masterpoints are awarded. Players must be prequalified for
the ANC Teams Championships. See
