2013 Stroke Awareness Charity Day

The winners of the Champagne High Tea for Two at Gunners Barracks were Toni & Bill Zorn (1st North/South with 68.3%).

Runners up were Allan Rosenberg, playing with his sister in law, Helen Borman (1st East/West with 64.60%).

The winner of the raffle was Belinda Rankine.

Over $700 was raised for the Stroke Recovery Association, which was started over 30 years ago by Allan's late wife, Anita Rosenberg.

Paul Lavings gave a short talk before the session and then had a game with Marion Rice who turned 104 in August.

A magnificent morning tea was donated by Frances Cufar with the catering done by daughter Jennifer, ably assisted by her husband John.

In spite of the whole building suffering a power failure for an hour in the middle of the game, the players were steadfast in playing out the session in the semi-darkness, to finish the game. Thankfully the power came back on 20mins before the end of the session and Marcia Scudder, the director, was able to score up and present the prizes to the winners.
