ABF INSURANCES
The ABF has taken out Management Liability and Public Liability Policies on behalf of its affiliates. Details are on the ABF website at www.abf.com.au/clubs/insurance.html.
REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES
On June 4 a meeting was held at the NSWBA by representatives of the NSWBA and the regions in NSW. Minutes of that meeting are below.

MODEL CONSTITUTION
The NSWBA has produced a model constitution for its affiliated Bridge Clubs, based on that provided by the Department of Fair Trading. It is recommended that clubs adopt this model constitution in its entirety, changing the following only:
  • Name-of-Bridge-Club to your club’s name
  • Start-of-Financial-Year to your club’s start of financial year, e.g. 1st April
  • End-of-Financial-Year to your club’s end of financial year, e.g. 31st March

SPECIAL COUNCILLORS
Clubs affiliated with the NSWBA are represented by 4 Special Councillors one for each zone. The councillors for 2011-2012 are
STATE EVENTS
All clubs are invited to participate in the State Championship Events conducted by the NSWBA each year.

Applications for congresses and holidays to be held in 2012 have closed. Clubs who have not yet submitted their applications should do so as soon as possible. Information and forms relating to congresses, holidays and tours can be found on the Congress Information page.

Own your own clubhouse

  • The NSW Communities Sport & Recreation department makes grants (up to $200,000) available, see www.dsr.nsw.gov.au/grants/srfgp.asp.
  • Applications normally open at the beginning of the year and close in April, so clubs will have to plan and obtain council development approval before applying.
  • The ABF has a fund from which clubs can obtain a loan, see www.abf.com.au/about/jos.html
