Chairman's Corner
Two items of possible interest for all clubs are worth repeating.
Firstly, in the last issue of the Newsletter, I announced that the NSWBA was
working with the ABF and other States and Territories to arrange Management
Liability Insurance covering all affiliated clubs. This is now in place, so
clubs may wish to cancel any other policy they may have and seek a refund. I am
delighted we can help protect the officials, many of them volunteers, who give
their time to bridge clubs across NSW.
Also I would like to mention another possible source of assistance for clubs.
The James O’Sullivan Trust honours the memory of a former president of the ABF,
and may provide loans to assist clubs. Details are on the ABF web site and
enquiries should be directed to the Secretariat of the ABF.
Finally, as I write, the Spring Festival of Bridge is just finishing. Randwick
Racecourse has turned out to be a brilliant home. Next year during
refurbishment of Randwick, we will stay with the theme and hold the event at
Canterbury Racecourse. I think that will also be wonderful … put it in your
diaries!
