Chairman's Corner
No.28, February, 2010
Country Wide
The NSWBA Council owes a great debt to the volunteers like Trish Carter and
Louis Koolen (and their predecessors) who generously give their time to
champion the interests of country clubs.
One of my goals for 2010 is to see if we can spread
the load. I would love to hear feedback from country players or administrators
on how we can set up better links. Perhaps we need a network of contacts across
regional NSW to liaise with their representatives on the NSWBA Council and
maybe meet in Sydney or elsewhere once a year to discuss common issues?
Please let me have your views – you can email me at
the address below or write via the NSWBA office.
Oh, What a Feeling
Climate change or no, it’s been a hot summer. We can breathe a sigh of relief
that the air conditioning in our Goulburn St premises has coped adequately,
with the exception of one infamous night in February when a fault in the
building control system left us entirely without aircon ... and, in keeping
with Murphy’s Law, it happened on one of our biggest nights. Ah, the wonders of
modern technology.
Apologies again to those who endured the heat. We
believe it was a once-off, but we will keep in close touch with the building
management on the subject!
